Biology
This angelfish can be found on its own or in a couple, at depths of up to 70 m.
It feeds by ‘pecking’ at rocks, sand and coral, looking for sponges, small sea anemone, shrimp and worms.
Like most angelfish, the juveniles look different from the adults. The young are adorned with black and blue or white bands.
The yellow bar that decorates the sides of this angelfish is not present until adulthood, only appearing once the fish reaches around 6 to 8 cm in length.
